Raiding and PVP – What’s the Difference?
Raiding and PVP – What’s the Difference?
By Jeffrey Adams
There are many people around the world who enjoy World of Warcraft (WoW). Why wouldn’t they? After all, it’s a game for everyone. Both kids and adults can play World of Warcraft. It caters to so many people. When they made the game, the people at Blizzard Entertainment made sure it could accommodate all kinds of people. Basically, there are two kinds of paths you could take when playing World of Warcraft. The first path is PVP and the second path s raiding. These two paths are very different. You can take both paths, but you have to be ready to invest in a lot of gear.
If you want to take the PVP path, you have to invest in gear. PVP, or player versus player, a mode of playing where you battle versus other playing characters in World of Warcraft. The most prestigious place to for PVP in World of Warcraft is the Arena. The Arena brings together players from different realms and pits them against each other. There are one-on-one PVP matches and there are group PVP matches. In order to succeed, you have to have high level gear. You have to deal the biggest damage. In group PVP, you have to have great pairing.
In raiding, however, the rules are different. The main places to raid are dungeons and instances. Here, instead of playing against other players, you band together to beat a powerful NPC or non-playing character. This is more complicated as you cannot use PVP gear in raiding. There is a more intricate system in raiding. You have to fit in your group well. For instance, if you are a warlock in PVP, you would gear up to have more DPS or damage points. In raiding, you would not do this because you would pull the aggression of the NPC. The agro always has to be on the tank. If you die because of this, the whole group system will be ruined.
Whatever path you choose, make sure to gear up wisely. Read tips and guidelines so you can succeed in whichever path you choose.

Super article.
Just want to share some information with you all for those that use the WOWHead tooltips in your websites.
With WOWHead updating their item database with Cataclysm they have been lagging a bit slowing personal websites that use the WOWHead script down.
So for all you folks who write your own sites I have done some digging and found the best way to put WOWhead tooltips on to your website. Since it’s a little long i’ve written the article and placed it here:
http://wowmentor.com/wordpress-tips/install-wowhead-tooltips/
Since doing this my site loading problems caused by WOWhead have gone.
Good luck hope this helps.

I have this to say, a bit unrelated…. Everywhere I go looking for advice on WoW, people seem to offer nothing useful. I’m looking for how to level up quicker, earn gold, etc. People give some of the worst advise. Everyone says not to buy guides on it… But I have to say, they are wrong. Check this out
